About Mobilization, Deployment & SSO

Mobilization, Deployment and Stability Support Operations (MD&SSO) Program provides services that assist Soldiers, Civilians and Family members throughout the phases of deployment and following an all-hazards event. Military life can be stressful, but MD&SSO services help ACS customers maintain individual readiness through deployment support, Family readiness training and emergency Family assistance.
  • Deployment Support is provided to Soldiers and units preparing to deploy or returning from a deployment.  Information and referral services assist Soldiers and Family members dealing with deployment and redeployment questions, concerns and challenges.  Services can be tailored to assist commanders in meeting the deployment and redeployment needs of their Soldier and Family Readiness Group (SFRG).  Commanders also have the virtual SFRG (vSFRG) as a tool to communicate with their SFRG membership in a secure online environment, especially during times of deployment.
  • Family Readiness Training is available to all SFRG members.  SFRG is a commander’s program linking Soldiers, Civilians and Family members with information, resources and networks that contribute to a unit’s overall readiness.  Training is available for command teams, Command Family Readiness Representatives and all SFRG volunteers to understand their roles/responsibilities within the SFRG.
  • Emergency Family Assistance is provided when disaster strikes an Army community.  For CONUS and OCONUS locations, assistance can be accessed through multiple methods.  First, when Soldiers account using the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (ADPAAS), they can complete an electronic assessment to identify needs resulting from the disaster.  Assessments are assigned to the closest ACS ADPAAS case manager, who contacts the Soldier to provide information and referral services.  Second, a garrison commander may activate the Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC), a one stop location for Soldiers, Civilians and Family members to access needed recovery services.  ACS coordinates EFAC operations, and works closely with other military and civilian agencies to ensure the EFAC is staffed with representatives of essential post disaster services.  Lastly, for OCONUS locations, ACS provides Family assistance coordination during noncombatant evacuation and repatriation operations.
