Family Advocacy on U.S. Army MWR

The U.S. Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (the G9 Division of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command, known as Army MWR) manages programs and services that support readiness and resilience for Soldiers and Families. Its work enhances the lives of Soldiers, Families, Reservists, National Guard members, DoD Civilians, Retirees and the entire U.S. Army community.
Family and MWR Programs are delivered primarily through a local garrison or installation.

About FAP
The US Army Family Advocacy Program is dedicated to the prevention, education, prompt reporting, investigation, intervention and treatment of spouse and child abuse. The program provides a variety of services to soldiers and families to enhance their relationship skills and improve their quality of life. This mission is accomplished through a variety of groups, seminars, workshops and counseling and intervention services.

Programs available through the Family Advocacy Program include:
Exceptional Family Member Program
The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory enrollment program that works with other military and civilian agencies to provide comprehensive and coordinated community support, housing, educational, medical, and personnel services to Families with special needs.Transitional Compensation Program
The Transitional Compensation Program provides temporary monetary assistance to Family members of a Soldier who has been court-martialed or is being administratively separated for a dependent-abuse offense.New Parent Support Program
New Parent Support is a program offered to Families to enhance parent and infant attachment, increase knowledge of child development, and provide connections to the support services that allow parents to become nurturing and capable caregivers.Victim Advocacy Program
The Victim Advocacy Services Program provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault, including crisis intervention, safety planning, support through the medical, investigative, and legal processes, and referrals to available resources.FAP Commander’s Desk Guide Self-Guided Tutorial
